The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has partnered with 10 people’s organizations (POs) in Central Luzon to develop 450 hectares of agroforestry and other livelihood projects under DENR-Region 3’s “Community-based Forest Management-Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CBFM-CARP) project.
“The CBFM-CARP project seeks to address the twin issues of environmental security and climate change by providing them financial and technical support in the development of their agroforestry projects,” DENR-Region 3 Director Francisco Milla, Jr. said.
Milla identified the PO-beneficiaries as Alangan Farmers Producers Association in Bataan; Sentro sa Pamamahala ng Pamayanang Mambikap, Bulawen Livelihood Center and Dusoc Upland Farmers Association in Zambales; Parista Tree Planters Association in Nueva Ecija; and Dueg Agroforestry Farmers Association, Labney Upland Farmers Association, Cacupangan Tree Farmers Assocation and Bundok Sula Upland Farmers Association in Tarlac. ###
Barangay Silangan I wins the grand prize in the 2015 Search for Cleanest and Greenest Barangay in Rosario, Cavite launched jointly by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources through its provincial office in Cavite, the Manila Bay Coordinating Council and the local government unit of Rosario.
