DENR Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Banga awards thirty-four (34) Certificate of Stewardship Contracts (CSCs) to individual families who are actually occupying or tilling portions of forest lands pursuant to Letter of Instruction No. 1260 signed on July 28, 1982, for a period of 25 years renewable for another 25 years at Brgy. Libas, Tantangan, South Cotabato.
 
Hon. Nelia L. Delos Reyes, Brgy. Captain, thanked the DENR-CENRO Banga for awarding the said contracts to the beneficiaries and including the Local Government Unit (LGU) in this endeavor.
 
CENR Officer-Banga Larry P. Curias expressed his gratitude to the beneficiaries for giving time to join in the activity. He also commended the CENRO Banga –Enforcement and Monitoring Section (EMS) CSC Team, for conducting and organizing the said initiative.
 
He said that the areas were assessed last 2020, but, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the awarding was moved this year 2022. He was also pleased to see that their respective contracts are being extended for another 25 years which is a manifestation that they are good stewards of the said forestlands, extended his warm congratulations and reminded the beneficiaries to continually manage and develop their lands.
 
On the otherhand, Indigenous Person Mandatory Representative (IPMR) Mario Mulan and Edwin Castro two of the recipients expressed their gratitude to the DENR and the LGU of Brgy. Libas Tantangan, particularly CENRO Banga, CENR Officer Larry P. Curias and its personnel, for the efforts of awarding the CSCs.
 
The presentation and awarding of Certificate of Stewardship Contracts to the beneficiaries was made possible by the Enforcement Monitoring Section (EMS) of CENRO Banga led by Senior Ecosystem Management Specialist Franklin M.
