Environment Secretary Roy A. Cimatu (front row, right) serves the Cease and Desist Order (CDO) to a representative of the Gloria Maris Shark’s Fin Restaurant (3rd from left) in CCP Complex, Pasay City after the launching ceremony of the Manila Bay Rehabilitation on January 27. The CDO was issued by Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) General Manager Jaime C. Medina (2nd from right) after an inspection of the restaurant’s facilities showed that these generate/discharge untreated wastewater to Manila Bay in violation of Republic Act No. 9275 or the Philippine Clean Water Act. Two other establishments served with CDOs on the same day were Aristocrat Restaurant in Roxas Blvd. and The Esplanade (San Miguel by the Bay) in the Mall of Asia Complex, both in Pasay City. Others in photo are from left: Information and Communications Technology Secretary Eliseo M. Rio, Jr., Defense Secretary Delfin N. Lorenzana, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chair Danilo D. Lim (partly hidden), members of the Manila Bay Rehabilitation Inter-agency Task Force, and LLDA Assistant General Manager Generoso Dungo. ###
