DENR-12 Regional Executive Director Atty. Felix S. Alicer presided over on Friday (Nov. 10) in Koronadal City the Soccsksargen Environmental Protection Task Force (SEPTF) fourth quarter meeting to keep abreast on the implementation of environment and natural resources (ENR) laws in the region including the challenges and accomplishments of each member agency.
RED Alicer, chair of the SEPTF, said that the pronouncement of the President during his first State of the Nation address where he stated that the โ€œprotection of the environment is the protection of lifeโ€ highlights the important role of the SEPTF as stewards of the environment. โ€œOur quarterly task force meeting is very important considering that the coordination between agencies in safeguarding our environment is being strengthened,โ€ he added.
During the meeting, the DENR-12 Accomplishment Report and Permits Issued, Background on Handling Fossilized Clams, and 2023 Accomplishment Reports of member agencies were presented. The DENR-12 also awarded the plaques of recognition to each SEPTF members for their unwavering support and exceptional contributions in environmental protection.
