๐Š๐จ๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐š๐๐š๐ฅ ๐‚๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐’๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก ๐‚๐จ๐ญ๐š๐›๐š๐ญ๐จ - In a dedicated effort to safeguard our environment, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) 12, through its Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group (RSCIG) and Regional Youth Desk Office, conducted back-to-back information, education, and communication (IEC) campaign in Barangay Lumasal, Maasim, Sarangani Province from October 24-25, 2023.
An environmental lecture was held on Tuesday at Aniceto C. Lopez, Sr. National High School and was attended by seventy (70) participants composed of students and teachers. Said initiative was timely which coincided with the International Day of Climate Action on October 24.
On Wednesday, October 25, an orientation took place in Purok 5 of Barangay Lumasal, drawing an audience of sixty (60) community members from the coastal area.
Resource speakers delved into various crucial topics, including climate change, the spectrum of environment and natural resources laws, which encompass the Expanded National Integrated Protected Areas System (ENIPAS) Act, and the pivotal role of youth in environmental protection.
Present at the two-day event are Khadija Bayam-Benpolok, Head of the RSCIG, Sheryl Cabildo, Development Management Officer III of PENRO Sarangani, Ali M. Hadjinasser Jr., Regional Youth Desk Officer/DMO II and Princess Kate A. Farrol, Information Officer I.
This concerted effort by DENR-12 in Maasim, Sarangani Province serves as an example of the departmentโ€™s collective commitment to environmental preservation and sustainability.
