ππ πͺπππ, πΊππππ πͺπππππππ -In celebration of this yearβs National Statistics Month, with the theme "Accelerating Progress: Promoting Data and Statistics for a Healthy Philippines," the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region-12 has actively engaged in a series of activities throughout October.
One of the highlights of this month was a spirited battle of wits that unfolded today. Representatives from regional divisions, field offices, and line bureaus came together to participate in an ENR statistical quiz bee organized by the DENR Planning and Management Division.
Meanwhile, Assistant Regional Director for Management Services, Maria Elvira V. Lumayag, emphasized the vital role of data and statistics in our pursuit of progress.
The quiz bee has three rounds, categorized as easy, medium, and difficult. Ultimately, Mark Louise M. Failon from the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) 12 emerged as the champion, with Quinne Marie T. Buhawe from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) 12 and Atty. Jay Mark P. Balbosa from the DENR Legal Division securing the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively.
In addition, on Monday, October 16, DENR 12 joined a simultaneous Zumba session facilitated by the Central Office Technical Committee on Statistical Concerns and Coordination. The department likewise hanged streamers/tarpaulins for the event.
The celebration of National Statistics Month is in line with Presidential Proclamation No.647 signed by then-President Corazon C. Aquino in 1990. | ππππππ
