DENR-12 spearheaded a learning event on Climate Change 101 Orientation on Entity-Level Greenhouse Gas Inventory to Regional Line Bureaus, the Provincial and the Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices (P/CENROs) focal persons on Greenhouse Gases (GHGs) on October 3, at the departmentโ€™s function hall, Koronadal City.
The said initiative was conducted to capacitate all designated GHG focal persons in the collection of data, computation of GHG emissions, and preparation of reports, which was participated by twenty (20) climate change focal persons in their respective offices.
In his message, regional executive director (RED) Atty. Felix S. Alicer encouraged the department to sustain the monitoring of carbon footprints in the offices and that there is a need to minimize carbon emission with the aid of collected verified and reliable data.
Environmental Management Specialist (EMS) II and Climate Change Focal Person of Environmental Management Bureau XII Izar Jesson G. Claudio discussed climate change and the entry-level greenhouse gas inventory, followed by an open forum on the computation workshop, and a presentation of a sample of the GHG report.
