𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐑-𝟏𝟐 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲

Several students were capacitated on Tuesday (Sept. 26) by the DENR Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Kiamba in Sarangani Province as part of this year’s World Environmental Health Day Celebration.

CENR Officer Abdul D. Cariga said that they have conducted an information, education, and communication (IEC) campaign at Kipalkuda Elementary School in Barangay La Union, Maitum town as part of the implementation plan to educate the young generation on environmental protection and conservation especially the solid waste management to prevent pollution in Pangi River – the DENR-12 official entry for this year’s RIVERs for Life program.

The activity was participated by 33 grade six students who were capacitated on the salient features of the Republic Act 9003 or Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 led by For.
