Koronadal City, South Cotabato โ€“ The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Office XII brought the โ€œDalaw Turoโ€ an educational awareness campaign in Bongolanon Elementary School, Magpet Cotabato on Thursday, September 7.
Dalaw Turo, a community-driven initiative, was organized with the primary goal of fostering environmental consciousness among its participants. Through a series of engaging activities like environmental games, chants, claps, and environmental skits, the program sought to enlighten the attendees about the important role they play in safeguarding the environment. Proper waste segregation was also emphasized as a crucial component of environmental preservation during the event.
Filipinas Parcon Amblon, an educator at Bongolanon Elementary School, expressed her gratitude to the DENR team for their invaluable efforts.
"This initiative is of immense importance, as it reminds us all that we are stewards of the environment, entrusted with the responsibility of preserving and protecting it," she said.
The event was spearheaded by the Protected Area Management and Biodiversity Conservation Section of the Conservation and Development Division of the regional office.
