The DENR Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Glan granted a special patent to the barangay site of Malalag Cogon in Malungon, Sarangani Province on Friday, August 18. The said patent, covering an expanse of 9,488 square meters, now holds official legal protection.

The awarding coincided with the commemoration of the barangay's 69th Foundation Anniversary and the 15th Kastifun Festival. Punong Barangay Kean Cesar Nallos, during his State of Barangay Address (SOBA), expressed his joy over the successful titling of the barangay site, highlighting their significant achievement.

Steering the endeavor, CENR Officer Dr. Rosalinda B. Cortez spearheaded the drive with invaluable support from Deputy CENRO For. Pinky J. Maglasang and Regulation and Permitting Section (RPS) Chief Maria Teresita Q. Galapon.

Mayor Atty. Maria Theresa D. Constantino of Malungon conveyed her sincere appreciation to the DENR, particularly CENRO Glan, for their unwavering commitment to public service.

The ceremony was witnessed by Sangguniang Bayan members, Board Members, DepEd District Supervisor, and former RPS Chief Vivian Mae Añora.

The awarding of the special patent was pursuant to the guidelines outlined in DENR Administrative Order 2016-21, processing of requests for proclamations and issuance of Special Patents over Agricultural Lands, as stipulated by Republic Act No. 10023.
