๐Š๐ˆ๐€๐Œ๐๐€, ๐’๐š๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ ๐š๐ง๐ข ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐œ๐ž - A total of 200 bamboo propagules were planted by the DENR Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Kiamba and concerned stakeholders in a bamboo growing activity this morning (August 11) at Pangi River in Barangay Wali, Maitum town, this province.
CENR Officer Abdul D. Cariga said that the establishment of bamboos along the riverbank is one the measures to mitigate climate change.
He added that the Pangi River is the regionโ€™s official entry for this yearโ€™s R.I.V.E.Rs (Recognizing Individuals/Institutions Towards Vibrant and Enhanced Rivers) for Life program of the DENR and the Barangay Wali is part of the โ€œ10 km riparian zone as center of interventionsโ€ of the said program which has been the venue of several environmental activities.
The event, which was also the celebration of the International Youth Day, was joined by 60 participants from MENRO-Maitum, Wali BLGU and Sangguiang Kabataaan, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Bravo Company, 38th IB, 6th ID of the Philippine Army.
