๐Š๐จ๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐š๐๐š๐ฅ ๐‚๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐’๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก ๐‚๐จ๐ญ๐š๐›๐š๐ญ๐จ - The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region (DENR) XII with its efforts on Disaster Risk Reduction Management conducted an Orientation on Disaster Risk Resilience and Climate Change Mitigation for the DENR 12 Regional Quick Response Team today, July 24 at the agencyโ€™s 3rd Floor Conference Room, Koronadal City.
The orientation aims to intensify the department's effort on National Disaster Resilience and Response, inform the Regional Office marshals on how to facilitate individuals in evacuating to safe zones during earthquakes or any other incident, prevent building re-entry during disasters and provide emergency first aid to victims as qualified or necessary. Participants were also given a refresher lecture on Climate Change and its detrimental effects.
In his message, DENR Regional Executive Director Atty. Felix S. Alicer encouraged the participants to listen actively and participate in the discussions. โ€œDisasters may strike anytime. The only way to be prepared for it is to somehow be equipped with the skills on how to properly respond to itโ€, he stressed.
Meanwhile, Ms. Sheila L. Marginado-Hallig, the Chief of the Capacity Building and Training Section of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) XII, and Ms. Mary Ann C. Tenorio, the Regional Focal Person for Climate Change served as resource speakers of the event.
The said orientation was spearheaded by the Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group (RSCIG) and attended by the DENR 12 Quick Response Team composed of personnel from Regional Office divisions.
