
Koronadal City, South Cotabato- The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR) 12 partnered with DENR Climate Change Service (CCS) in an Orientation on Risk Resiliencey Program (RRSP) virtually today, July 12.
During the orientation, resource speakers from the DENR Cenral Office - CCS discussed topics on RRP’s objectives, prevailing guidelines, roadmap, operating principles, institutional arrangements, and other matters relevant to the RRP. Development and Management Officer (DMO) I Jeffrey Santos, discussed the Overview of Risk Resiliency Program while DMO II Kathleen Dominique Cornejo discussed the Convergence Planning and Budgeting under Risk Resiliency Program. Lastly, DMO IV Ma. Theresa Legaspi discussed the Monitoring and Evaluation framework and Institutional Arrangements/ Roles and Responsibilities.
In an Open Forum with the participating member LGUs and Regional Line Agencies, DENR-12 Regional Executive Director (RED) Atty. Felix S. Alicer emphasized that DENR-12 should make proposals. Such proposals should be identified under the RRP and should be pushed forward to the Central Offfice for the prioritization in the allocation of budget considering that they are under the Risk Resiliency Program.
Present in the orientation were Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services (ARD-TS) Engr. Mama G. Samaon, Assistant Regional Director for Management Services (ARD-MS) For. Mamutur Cariga, identified member agencies and LGUs such as MGB-12, EMB-12, DA-12, DOST-12, OCD-12, DSWD-12, DOT-12, DPWH-12, DILG-12, BFAR-12, PLGU – Cotabato, PPDO- South Cotabato, PDRRMO – South Cotabato, and other key partners. The orientation was facilitated through DENR-12 Conservation and Development Division (CDD) Climate Change Focal Person and DMO III Mary Ann C. Tenorio.
The Climate Change Adaptation, Mitigation, and Disaster Risk Reduction Cabinet Cluster (CCAM-DRR Cluster), a cross-department mechanism chaired by DENR adopted the Risk Resiliency Program (RRP) to operationalize the CCAM-DRR Roadmap.
