Another sea turtle, locally known as โ€œpawikan,โ€ was released on Thursday morning (July 6) at Isla Ligaya Beach Resort in Barangay Datu Dani, Kiamba, Sarangani Province by environment authorities after it was saved by the resort owner.
The 35 kilogram female Green sea turtle with 69 centimeters length and 64 centimeters width was seen by Gloria Tan in her beach resort and immediately notified the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Kiamba to ensure its safety.
A metal tag with serial number PH 2574A was placed on the pawikanโ€™s left flippers before it was freed by CENRO Kiamba Quick Response Team (QRT) and some personnel of Kiamba LGU and MENRO.
