DENR Regional Executive Director Atty. Felix S. Alicer administered the oath-taking of the newly elected Community Based Forest Management (CBFM) Peoples Organization (PO) Federation Officers today, July 4 at the DENR Regional Office Conference Hall.
The event was initiated by the Conservation and Development Division- Production Forest Management Section headed by PFMS Chief For. Wilma C. Saladero who stressed the importance of cooperation, perseverance and continued teamwork in the POs operations.
In his message, RED Alicer likewise emphasized that the protection of the environment is a responsibility shared by all. โ€œI hope that you continue to be our active partner in environmental protection and conservationโ€, he said.
The CBFM Peoples Organization is composed of individuals with a CBFM agreement for a period of 25 years renewable for another 25 years which provides them with tenurial security and incentives to develop, utilize and manage specific portions of forest lands.
A meeting ensued after the oath-taking activity wherein RCBFMO For. Leonida Liza Q. Curias gave an update on the upcoming national validation of CBFM areas and other CBFM-related concerns.
Also present in the event are ARD for Technical Services Engr. Mama G. Samaon, LGU Columbio Vice Mayor and PO Chairman of Datalblao Multi-Purpose Cooperative - Hon. Bainaila M. Mamalinta, PO Federation officers, and CBFM-PFMS personnel and staff. ๐‘๐’๐‚๐ˆ๐†๐
