Assistant Secretary for Integrated Environmental Science Joan A. Lagunda presided over a meeting with the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) today, April 12 at the DENR XII Office, Koronadal City.

Lagunda - who is also the Assistant Secretary for the River Basin- discussed the Mindanao River Basin Management Council (MRBMC)'s composition and objectives with MinDA's DMO V Gerardo Ramon Cesar Reynaldo.

She pointed out that the Climate Responsive Integrated Master Plan for the Mindanao River Basin needs to be updated and its technical working group (TWG) shall be strengthened, to effectively handle the challenges that the council is facing.

During her time in Region XII, ASEC Lagunda is scheduled to visit the Mindanao River Basin's River Tributaries. With a catchment area of 21,503 square kilometers, the Mindanao River Basin is the Philippines' second-largest river basin. | RSCIGP
