๐Š๐ˆ๐€๐Œ๐๐€, ๐’๐š๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ ๐š๐ง๐ข ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐œ๐ž - A total of 40 individuals were capacitated by the DENR Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Kiamba on Tuesday (February 21) during the training/orientation for the deputation of wildlife enforcement officers (WEOs) and environment and natural resources officers (DENROs) in Barangay Ticulab, Maitum town, this province as part of the departmentโ€™s campaign to strengthen the partnership with the community on environmental protection and conservation.

CENR Officer Abdul D. Cariga said the activity was conducted to orient the participants on their duties and responsibilities as partners of the DENR in enforcing environmental laws. โ€œLet us work hand-in-hand to protect, manage, develop, and conserve the environment and natural resources,โ€ he said.

The participants were capacitated on the provisions and penalties under the Presidential Decree No. 705 (as amended), Executive Order No. 23, Republic Act No. 9147 or the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act, and RA 9175 also known as the Chain Saw Act of 2002; the duties and responsibilities of the DENROs and WEOs; and the important roles of women in the community, especially in environmental protection.

Serving as the resource persons were Monitoring and Enforcement Section Chief For. Ammar H. Sangcopan, For. Mary Gie S. Cuerpo, For. Charlyn R. Cailing, and GAD focal person Engr. Evanly W. Kusin.
