A total of 1,000 trees seedlings of fruits and bamboo were planted by the DENR-12, partner government agencies, non-government organizations, civil society organizations, motor riders club, women organizations and the community in Calminda Watershed at Sitio Masasato, Barangay Bagacay, Alabel, Sarangani Province this morning, October 5, during launching of the Ronda Probinsya's “One Million Trees Project,” a greening activity spearheaded by the Provincial Government of Sarangani in support to the reforestation development program of the province.
DENR Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO) of Sarangani Maria Elvira V. Lumayag lauded the “One Million Trees Project” which is a call of Governor Rogelio “Ruel” D. Pacquiao to every Sarangan to conserve and protect the environment with an emphasis in all the critical watersheds of Sarangani.
Another highlight of the event was USAID's turned over of the Safe Water Project, the Sarangani Province Integrated Water Security Management Plan to the leaders of the eProvincial Government.
