The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Banga conducted livelihood training on how to raise Falcata (Paraseriantes falcataria) seedlings for the National Greening Program (NGP) beneficiaries of Brgy. Mongokayo, T’boli, South Cotabato.

The said initiative is one of the targets of CENRO Banga's Gender and Development (GAD) program.

The activity aims the following objectives; provide technical skills on raising Falcata seedlings, and be able to produce 1,000 seedlings for the eNGP; raise awareness on the importance of planting Falcata and its economic and environmental benefits; promote public awareness as well as instill social and environmental consciousness on the value of forests and watersheds; improve the socio-economic conditions of the UN beneficiaries through accessing and acquiring necessary assets to engage in and maintain thriving livelihoods, and to inform for engagement among men and women in promoting gender equality in any government programs and services.

Meanwhile, NGP staff demonstrated the process of how to plant Falcata seeds and how to take care of them.

A total of 1,000 seeds of Falcata and 10 eco crates were brought for the beneficiaries.

Also, lectures on National Greening Program (NGP) and Climate Change Adaptation/Mitigation were presented with 46 copies of IEC materials entitled β€œBakit Mahalaga Ang Mga Puno?” and β€œAlternatibong Resolusyon sa Panagbangi (Alternative Dispute Resolution)” were distributed.
