Public consultation on environmental laws and policies, information on the application for Residential and Agricultural Free Patent, chainsaw registration, furniture supply contracts, and other permit and clearance requests were provided at the venue.

 

Along with these were the awarding of 68 Residential Patent Titles, dissemination of flyers – “The Residential Free Patent Act No. 10023”, and distribution of 300 seedlings of Timber and Indigenous species to the residents of the said area.

 

Hon. Zimar E. Escanillan stressed that the event reflects the aspirations of the residents.

 

“This is a dream come true for the people of Brgy. Canahay -having their own title of their respective lands. Thanks to DENR – CENRO Banga for this activity”, he added.

 

Meanwhile, Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer Larry P. Curias emphasized the significance of the conducted event.

 

“Land is vital to people's sense of security and quest for a better quality of life. However, the security of people’s land tenure can only be achieved through an efficient land administration system, including efficient land survey and mapping, first-time titling of alienable and disposable land, registration of land title transfer and public land management. As such, the people's need to be secured for lands they occupy has already been recognized. In fact, this is one of the priority programs of the government and the DENR”, CENRO Curias said.

 

Also present in the activity was Senior Ecosystem Management Specialist/Chief, Enforcement and Monitoring Section (EMS) Franklin M. Lebrilla, Planning Officer III/Chief, Admin Officer Ma. Leonor P. Lastico, Land Management Officer III/Chief, Regulation and Permitting Section (RPS) Fe Rosario T. Agnes, and CENRO Banga personnel.
