A total of 5,200 indigenous and fruit trees seedlings were planted by over 600 participants in Region 12 today, June 25, in line with the celebration of 159th Year of Philippine Forestry Service and Philippine Arbor Day.

Based on the reports of DENR-12 field offices, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of South Cotabato has planted 3,500 seedlings; 1,200 seedlings by CENRO Banga; and 500 seedlings by PENRO Cotabato in todayโ€™s greening activity.

Personnel from DENR-12 Regional Office, PENRO Cotabato, PENRO South Cotabato, CENRO Banga, Philippine Army, MASON Koronadal, local government units, students, peopleโ€™s organizations, and other stakeholders took part in the observation of this yearโ€™s Arbor Day.

Yesterday, a total of 1,800 seedlings were planted in other areas of Soccsksargen Region ahead of todayโ€™s celebration of Arbor Day.
