The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) General Santos City has conducted a ceremonial awarding of Residential Free Patent on June 7, 2022, held at Brgy. Sulit Gymnasium, Polomolok, South Cotabato.
At least sixty-eight (68) patents were distributed to the respective land-owners.
Following the provisions stipulated under Republic Act No.10023, both the DENR and the local government unit (LGU) of Polomolok fast tracked the processing of the said titles in order to permanently secure the rights of the land-owners through a legal document and to provide them efficient service and assurance.
The service provides an easier, inexpensive, and tiresome process in gaining legal rights over an occupied and cultivated parcel of land which was zoned as residential for at least 10 years.
In her message, Mayor Honey Lumayag-Matti emphasized the privilege of having one's own land title. She also extended her gratitude to DENR for granting their request to survey the unsurveyed townsite of Barangay Sulit.
It can be recalled that the said barangay Sulit was a recipient of the CY 2021 survey for residential areas under GSS-12-000367.
Meanwhile, CENR Officer Elmer Mercado welcomed and acknowledged the effort given by LGU Polomolok and the DENR personnel for the swift issuance of the Residential Free Patents, underscoring how these titles can help the land-owners economically.
Said event was also graced by Hon. Rex Mendez, Land and Administration Management Unit Chief, Mary Grace F. Ybañez, and witnessed by CENRO Gensan personnel. (MJAZULITA-UGARTE -CENROGSC)
