In a bid to discuss and explain the essence and process of Survey and Registration of Protected Area Occupants (SRPAO) within the Mt. Matutum Protected Landscape (MMPL) and Allah Valley Watershed Forest Reserve (AVWFR), a consultation and capacity building was spearheaded on March 10 in Koronadal City by the Protected Area Management Office (PAMO) of MMPL.

Dr. Ali M. Hadjinasser, chief of DENR-12 Conservation and Development Division (CDD), recommended the local name “Census” for the SRPAO and suggested not to complicate things and ideas to the migrants who are subjects to be interviewed.

During the event, MMPL Assistant Protected Area Superintendent Mary Ann Tenorio talked over the whole system concerning the SRPAO including its goals, definition, benefits, and expected outputs.

She also introduced various forms which are necessary in the enumerators’ interviews to the household heads.

MMPL PASu Efren C Hibaler and AVPL PASu Leonisa Alfaro were also in attendance to respond on the comments and questions of concerned barangay chairpersons. (With Photos and report from PENRO South Cotabato IO Designate, Mary Ann Tenorio)
