This year’s Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape (SBPS) Week ends through the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) General Santos City recent coastal/river clean up drive at Purok Kulasi, Brgy. Labangal, General Santos City in partnership with the Protected Area Management Office (PAMO)-SBPS and City Environment and Natural Resources Office.
Over 80 sacks of trash were collected during the clean up activity by the staff and personnel from CENRO GenSan, City ENRO, and BLGU Labangal.
Said event aimed to encourage the residents of Prk. Kulasi to practice proper waste segregation, as well as to highlight and act upon the detrimental result of waste disposal in our oceans and rivers, for its massive impact to our marine ecosystem.
Meanwhile, as a sign of gratitude, an assistance was given to the residents of Prk. Kulasi, where 3 kilos of rice were distributed to each family who participated on the said clean up drive. (MJAZULITA-UGARTE -CENROGSC)
