The Community Environment and Natural Resources of Kiamba retrieved on Thursday, February 3, the 99 marine turtle eggs found by a resident along the shoreline of Barangay Suli, Kiamba, Sarangani Province.
 
CENR Officer Abdul D. Cariga said that Gilito Tibod found the eggs which was reported by his daughter Jessa in social media to call the attention of the authorities.
 
Upon seeing the photos in social media, Stephany Kaye M. Hassan, conservation and development section chief of CENRO Kiamba, immediately informed the members of their Quick Response Team (QRT) Land Management Officer II Arnel V. Evangelio, Forest Technical Zenix R. Lomboy, Forest Rangers Modjahid A. Sapal and Jalal P. Pantao to take action on the incident.
 
The marine turtle eggs, which will hatch after 2-3 months, were turned over in Maitum Pawikan Hatchery and Learning Center location in Barangay Kiambing for safekeeping.
 
CENR Officer Cariga commended the action of the residents which is the result of their intensified information drive on the importance of marine wildlife.
