CONSULTATION ON ORGANIZATIONAL STRENGTHENING OF NUANGAN RIVER REHABILITATION TASK FORCE

With the assistance of DENR XII River Basin Coordinating Office (RCBO) Regional Coordinator Forester Gabriel M. Baute and Conservation and Development Section (CDS) Chief Forester Lito S. Balbon, the consultation focused on the discussion of how to enhance the task force and later agreed in the creation of a council through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), to meet the obligation and functions of the parties involved.

 

Present in the said consultation are the various offices from the local government units (LGUs) of Kidapawan City (City Engineering Office, City Tourism, City Planning and Development Office, City-ENRO), Rural Health Unit and Barangay key officials of Barangay Nuangan.

 

The activity was conducted in line with the Recognizing Individuals/Institutions towards Vibrant and Enhanced Rivers (R.I.V.E.R.S.) for Life Award which aims to revitalize rivers, and raise awareness of the need to protect and conserve the rivers in the country by implementing and enforcing environmental laws and other initiatives to protect rivers from pollution and other threats. | (With report from Ivy Cinconiegue, CENRO Matalam Information Officer Designate)
