The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) XII through its Legal Division conducted activities relative to the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program on September 13, 2021.
 
In the perseverance of the department to mediate and to provide conflict resolution among parties involved in the disposition of land claims and conflicts, an orientation on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) at Barangay Bolebak, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat and information dissemination at Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat were initiated to focus on the benefits of ADR.
 
Atty. III Mae Fretzel Deadio of DENR XII-Legal Division-Focal Alternative Dispute Resolution Officer (FADRO) encouraged parties involved in land disputes to take advantage of ADR instead of resorting into litigation.
 
Also present in the said activities were the Regional Office - Assistant Regional Director for Management Services (ARD-MS) Bighani M. Manipula, PhD., LMO II and ADR Focal Person Engr. Taric Pananggilan of CENRO Kalamansig, CENRO Kalamansig personnel, and participants coming from the communities.
 
The ADR procedure was implemented by DENR pursuant to Republic Act 9285 or the Alternative Dispute Resolution Act of 2004 and Executive Order 523 instituting the use of ADR in the Executive Department of the Government. ADR is significant for the operations of DENR in accordance to Administrative Order 2016-30 calling for the establishment of mechanisms and tools for ADR in the disposition of land claims and conflicts, the organization of a pool of ADROs, and the creation of a committee and secretariat tasked to implement the ADR process.
