MID-YEAR ASSESSMENT MEETING

RED Alicer presented DENR XII’s accomplishment on the inventory of the number of trees under the National Greening Program (NGP) plantation, interventions on the NGP graduated sites, inventory of structures within the protected area (PA) and within timberland, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) for Environmental Cases, NGP Family Approach, financial utilization, and 8888 Hotline reports.

 

On the other hand, ARD for Technical Services, Engr. Mama G. Samaon gave brief information on the Strategic Monitoring Stations for illegal logging, Organization of Anti-environmental Crime Task Force, Online System for Energy-Related Projects, and Rivers for Life; whereas ARD for Management Services, Bighani M. Manipula, Ph.D., gave an update on the total manpower of the region, Vaccination status, and Appointment Status.

 

Meanwhile, Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) XII Regional Director Engr. Omar Saikol, and Mines Geosciences Bureau (MGB) XII Regional Director Engr. Efren B. Carido respectively presented their updates.

 

The said quarterly assessment meeting is an initiative of Assistant Secretary for Field Operations-Mindanao and Legislative Affairs Joan A. Lagunda, D.M., DPA to monitor compliance of DENR Regional Offices with Secretary Roy A. Cimatu’s instructions from regular DENR Management Conferences.

 

In attendance were DENR Central Office Key Officials, Regional Executive Directors, Assistant Regional Directors, Bureau Directors, attached agency heads, chief planning and programming division, chief program monitoring and evaluation division, chief policy studies division, heads of NGP Coordinating Office, Provincial/Community Environment and Natural Resources Officers regionwide.
