The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) XII through the Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group (RSCIG) conducted a virtual orientation on solid waste management (SWM), environmental problems, and enforcement procedures on May 26, 2021.
A total of 100 Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel and representatives from the Department of Interior and Local Government in the region joined the said online activity.
The orientation aims to acquaint the participants with the facts and concepts involving proper waste segregation as well as forest products apprehension and guidelines of enforcement on environmental laws.
In his message, DENR XII Regional Executive Director (RED) Atty. Felix S. Alicer emphasized the importance of proper waste segregation. He also added that the PNP plays a vital role in implementing the laws in apprehension and confiscation of activities on illegal possession of forest products in the region.
Meanwhile, National Police Commission XII (NAPOLCOM) Regional Director Rodel M. Calo expressed his gratitude to the department for the success of the virtual orientation and encouraged the members of the PNP to do their task not just in keeping the peace but also in ensuring the protection of the environment.
