October 24, 2017 - The recently conducted Training Workshop on Flagship Campaign Development for the Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape was attended by Information Officers, representatives of the MENRO covered by the SBPS, staff from BFAR and staff from the PENRO.

Among the highlights of the activity were the identification of behavioural change that needs campaign for the conservation and protection of the Sarangani Bay. Also, the participants were able to choose three vulnerable flagship species found within the protected seascape. These are the green sea turtle, Thalassodendrom ciliatum (seagrass) and priority is the dugong, listed as one of the endangered species. Just this October, 3 dugongs were found dead along the shore of the SBPS. Activities for the 22nd Anniversary of the SBPS since it was declared in 1996 as a protected area were also planned out.
