The DENR XII through the Forest Utilization Section (FUS) under the Licenses, Patents and Deeds Division (LPDD) recently conducted the region-wide monitoring and validation of domestic retail prices of selected forest products in the market.

Forester Abdulnagib T. Ringia, Chief of the FUS said that the price monitoring of forest products provides basic statistics in forest utilization, especially the locally produced ones like lumber of plantation species, bamboo and rattan.

“Prices were surveyed from registered wood processors, lumber dealers, furniture shops and retailers of Non-wood Forest Products (NWFP),” Forester Ringia added.

The region-wide monitoring is in line with the DENR Revised Price Monitoring System (RPMS), one of the forestry information databases. | Report and Photos by: Forester Zobair Sidic
